Pupils are invited to discover the farm crops. They sometimes participate to harvests and they are entitled to a friendly picnic.

MEAD develops a pedagogical vocation by working on food issues. Some children and adult visits occur,
they are introduced to cooking and nutrition workshops, they discover applied agronomy... MEAD also opens to other audiences: parents, beneficiaries of the social grocery store, seniors and economic actors (restaurants, hotels, food outlets, businesses and food trades).

For the kids...

Sébastien Jourde, the municipal farmer, is involved in the educational mission. A gentleman for youngness!

Classified by Unicef as "Child Friendly City", Mouans-Sartoux is one of the 10% of municipalities in France spending most money for schools. The child is considered as a responsible actor, a budding citizen who is given the keys to the future by making autonomous in his learning on sustainable development. Municipal farm aims to be an essential support for transmitting values and practices. Classes go to Haute-Combe in turn where Sébastien Jourde, the municipal farmer, makes them find out the principles of organic farming. Pupils get involved by participating in harvests. They realize the direct link between the earth and the contents of their plate ...

... and for grown-up

Elected officials and technicians from local authorities are offered a tour of the farm. MEAD aims to strengthen the service offering that helps to convey values and practices.

Adults are not forgotten at all. French or foreign elected officials often come from many places in Europe to understand how the food policy commitments works. The MEAD wants to develop this offer of technical visit. Soon, a preliminary questionnaire on the expectations and motivations of the candidates for the visit will be posted on this site, prepared by a team of students from the Côte-d'Azur University. The idea is to make fruitful the reflection before coming because many people left the site with more apprehension than at the beginning. The MEAD team wants to reassure them about the feasibility and transmission of the local model at all territorial scales!
